# Login Process

To start working in SmartBooks accounting software, users log in in the following order:

**Step 1: Start the application.** Double-click the SmartBooks icon on the desktop or from the Start menu.

**Step 2: Enter the account.** Fill in **User ID** and **Password**.

**Step 3: Select the working environment.**

* **Language**: Select the interface language (Vietnamese, English, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Khmer).
* **Company Code**: Select the company code to work with.
* **Branch**: Select the branch if the company uses multi-branch accounting.

**Step 4: Log in.** Click **OK/Enter**. The system validates the account and loads permissions by user. After permissions are changed, the user must **log out and log in again**.
